How far does everyone commute to work?

Hi, I recently came to the decision to move 30 miles away from work. This is a fair jump from the 17 miles I'm used to.
Does 30 miles there and 30 miles back sound like a massive commute? It'll be driving.

4.5 miles. Means I dont need to spend the majority of my weekday either travelling to or at work. Much better.

Did 50 miles a day then 100 miles a day on placement, it was totally crap.

Train/train there and train/train/tram home, takes about 1 hour 20.

I think as the crow flies it's about 12.5 miles but there is no direct route there and if I were to drive it goes through 3-4 major traffic pinch points. Took me 2.75 hours last time I drove

I used to drive 40 miles either way, normally taking about 45 minutes each journey.

I now walk to work, taking about 8 minutes door to door :)

If faced with commuting in future, I'll probably move closer to work. Much much better than putting up with all the morons in rush hour traffic.

3 miles
On the way there it takes me :
45 minutes by public transport ( 2 buses, one only rides once per 30 minutes)
or
20 minutes cycling
or
10 minutes by moped
or 10-30 minutes by car depending on traffic ( rare exceptions like once per 3 months where it takes longer, took me 45 minutes once due to an accident).

The way back:
Public transport 40-45 min.
Cycle 20 min
Car & moped both 10 mins.

I travel about 13 miles to get to work each way. Takes me around 45-50mins on my scooter which I dont think is too bad considering I dont have to live in the smeg of central London.

Today was horrible ~110 miles each way, had to go swansea for a job, best part of 2 hours behind the wheel of a van each way. I went straight from work to college stinking like a rotting fish, covered in mud.

Usually it's more like 10-20 miles, local work, thats fine with me, really depends where we're working that day though.

Oh and tescos (my other job), 3 miles. I've done it door to door in 7 minutes before, usually takes about 10-13 mins depending on traffic.

Work is 5 miles away which takes around 25 minutes from house door to work desk. Not sure I would want to live any further/closer.

Depends on where i'm going and what route i take. It's either 6.11km, 7.12km, 3.1km, 3.8km or about 12km. All except the latter i do on my bike.

Currently about 50 miles a day, but I don't find it too bad to be honest. It can sometimes take an hour and a half mind if traffic sucks and that's not much fun but normally 30-45mins.

30 miles each way at the minute, and I drive and deal with the M25 and QE2 bridge and dartford tunnel everyday. You get used to it :)

About half a mile, I almost always walk. Driving isn't much quicker, and since they're going to be digging up the road I drive along fairly soon the drive will be even worse.

About 5-10 mins drive from home to the office - or if not I go straight on site - which can be anywhere from just round the corner to 50-80 miles :p

30 minutes by bus, metro and walk (5 minutes on the bus, 20 minutes on the metro and 5 minutes walk)
