I only joined over a year ago, in that time I've upgraded:

75Mb BT broadband to 850Mb Hyperoptic.
Thrustmaster warthog HOTAS setup for £250.
A 4th drive: Samsung 850 EVO 1 TB for £315.
A 2nd screen, the ASUS PG348Q for £1k.
Now upgraded my graphics card from a 770 GTX to a 1080 Ti £800.

This November I'll be upgrading to a new PC mainly to upgrade from my i5 4670K to a £500ish Kaby Lake X, and faster DDR4 ram but still keep it at 16GB though as the GPU has 11GB.

Thanks for the inheritance, granddad! :D

I joined in 2008, I think at the time I had 2 pc's (like I have now) That was down to settling arguments from my Young nephews over who got to go on my PC's when they came round to visit. These were (off the top of my head) a Q6600 & an E8400. I kept those until late 2011 when I upgraded to Sandy bridge. I flirted with AMD for a little while before & after that (Phenom II x2 555BE, Trinty & Richland were bought & sold) Last upgrades were bought off the MM (Haswell i3 & Broadwell i5) a couple of years ago. No upgrades are in the pipeline until Nephews ask for one as they get my handmedowns.

Erm I have no idea as I joined back in 2002 (actually before that on the old forum and then rejoined on the 'new' forum) but what I do know is I've no longer a PC! Times have changed indeed.

Must have spent thousands and thousands on PC parts since 2002 though!

Lurked here when i had p2 400mhz , learnt how to overlook the celeroon 600, first CPU to 1 GHz! Then got a athlon 1.2 GHz was top CPU back then!

Ah I remember the heady heights of hitting 1GHz for the first time - seemed such a milestone at the time heh.

Partly because my electronics lecturer at the time was adamant that transistors couldn't possibly switch at more than 900MHz and thus we would never see a faster CPU than 900MHz ever [full stop] and put me down condescendingly to a room full of people when I tried to argue otherwise/that he was wrong hah.

Cant really remember, as I went off PCs after I got divorced, bought a laptop and a big motorbike, which became my main hobby for a couple of years, and still is, but recently got back into things again, it is fun messing with Pcs, any way, from what I can remember, I did have an Athlon 64, Phenom 2, 720 and 955,black edition,
i5 3570k and lastly i7 3770k, which was bought recently as a slight upgrade (along with another 8gb of ram) till I can afford a full upgrade next year,
Also, NVidia gto 7900 was my first graphics card, had a HD 4850, GTX 470, GTX 670, and lastly just got a RX480
cant reamember any more, but am starting to enjoy overclocking again, it takes time but is fun !!!!

Think it was about 2009 when I first joined the forums (lost those login details long ago so am on account #2) though I'd been into hardware since about 1999 when I got my first CPU (no idea what :p I remember overclocking it to 400MHz though and thinking I was awesome).

So.... I guess I moved to my current rig just after joining the forums and while I've swapped out components I've been on the same mobo & CPU ever since! :o

Well I upgraded to my signature but that's still my build,
It's been unplugged for a long time, and I never even overclocked the damn thing so.....

Whenever I do plug it in and play games it's all older stuff or mmo's like WoW so i'm not nearly limited yet.

First system I bought from OC was a E6300, mATX based system. Think I got a GTX 7900 too at the time. My existing system was a P4 which I kept running as my home server. Since then, multiple upgrades with old system moving to be the home server and new one used as PC :) Currently home server is 1366 based system with a recently purchased X5680 (switched a 930 out) and PC is an Z87-WS with a 4790K and a 1080 :)

Pretty far :p I think back then I was on an AMD Athlon 3200 with a Radeon 9200 SE. The GPU let me down but the CPU was a beast for its day. Right now I'm using a 6600k with a 970.

However, the interesting thing to note is that for 6 of the 12 years since I joined OCUK, I was using a 2500k. Hell of a CPU.

When I first joined OCUK forums I was running an xp2500 cpu & tnt2 m64 gpu.
Upgraded to a 9700 gpu & flashed it to a 9700pro bios.
I remember driving up to the shop to collect the 9700 as I didn't want to wait 2 or 3 days for delivery back then.

Joined in 2013, though had lurked for quite a while. Think I was rocking a phenom x4 965 BE at the time (the terrible 140w TDP one), 4gb 1066 mhz DDR2, an Asus M4n-HT-Deluxe mempipe, various mech drives in RAID 0, (the array only started packing up last year, which I was surprised at! - I gave the machine to my cousin in 2014 and the drives were old when I threw it together to begin with!) and a HD 4870, which I then upgraded to a 560ti, then a 580, then 580 sli in the space of about 3 months.

Now I'm on Ryzen 5 1600, 16gb 3000mhz ddr4, Asus crosshair VI, gtx 980ti, custom water and some stupid fast nvme drive. I still miss that HD 4870 though. It wasn't my first gpu, it was my 3rd after a long hiatus from PC gaming. And boy was I glad to be back.

How are you finding Ryzen? Ive looked at it but after getting a free z97 board and selling the old FX CPU and board I decided to just upgrade my lad to my 4770k and drop in a second hand 4790k into my system.
Im still wanting to get a 980ti but will need to wait to funds allow.
