I am finally getting BF3 tomorrow and need to know how far I should really push my rig to get the most out of the game.

My specs at the moment are:

  • AMD Athlon X4 640 @ stock 3.0ghz
  • ASRock M3N78D
  • 4GB Corsair DDR3 1333mhz
  • XFX HD5770 Single Slot @ stock

I have hit 3.4ghz on my cpu at stock volts and have a arctic freezer pro 7 rev. 2 cooler on it. And my GPU has hit 960/1450 over the stock 850/1200.

I play at 1440*900 on a LG 19" widescreen monitor via VGA.

Do you think I will have to push my hardware further than I have done or think I should be ok???

And what settings should I play at to get the most out of my rig??

Thanks all.

as long as your processor passes a long session of prime95 (2hr+) and the GPU passes a long session of OCCT GPU test (~1hr), and you havent put silly voltages on the components then push as far as you like. in the end it will mean you can turn the graphics up that little bit higher

im using a 4ghz phenom ii quad and a 5770 at 1600x900. I believe to keep everything nice and smooth the majority of my settings are medium with a couple of things turned up a bit higher. Cant remeber what at the moment, ill lok next time im home.
