How far to push Vcore (8600k)

Hi,

I'm new at OC'ing but I've managed to get my i5-8600k stable at 5GHz using 1.35v.

I'm using a custom loop, a 240+360 rad combo with only the CPU and a GTX980 in it. Temps during RealBench are in the 50's.

How far can I push the Vcore to see if I can get to maybe 5.1 or 5.2GHz?

Think I read 1.40v - 1.45v max but tbh its not worth pushing that much through the chip for .1/.2Ghz extra. If its just for benching then no probs but 24/7 I'd be very happy with 5Ghz @ 1.35v

1.45V should be no problem.

according to Intel Datasheet for 8th gen CPU, max voltage should be 1.52 +- 0.2v. However for normal daily usage and your cooling, you should aim for no more than 1.45v if you are ballsy and around 1.4v if you like to play it safe. Personally, I always run them at around the edge since they have 3 year warranty.

Great, so loads more headroom to play with.

I did try 5.1GHz with 1.35, it booted but 2 or 3 seconds into Realbench it BSOD'd.

As mentioned I'm an absolute novice on OCing, I'm sure someone with experience who knows the finer details in the settings could easily get more out. Right now I'm effectively just turning multiplier and Vcore.

I will also note that right now it's 5.0GHz on all 6 cores, which I'm very happy with!
