How fast can you run 2.4km (1.5 miles)?

I did a 5k in 22:46 last night.
So thats 3.1 miles.
Mathmatically that suggests an 11ish mins time.
However, I think I could do it in about 10 as it is a shorter distance

This is all part of my return to training after breaking my ankle in two places.
Aiming to go from no running to sub 50 in a 10k in 3 weeks :D

Just about on target, running a 10k practise tomorrow to see how close to the 50 I can get! If I make it, I will set a new target :D

I ran a 3000 to open my track season in early April and went through 1.5mile in 7:46. This was start of season though so after getting back into speed work I should be through 1.5m in under 7:30 for 5000m and sub 7:20 for 3000m really. I'd be able to give a much better indication of my "best" 1.5 time if I wasn't bloody injured :(

Ran 10km in 43:18 yesterday (PR for me :)), I don't really run less than 10km but if I take the fastest 5km and 2.4km sections then I get:

5km - 20:52
2.4km - 9:50

!.5 Miles used to be part of the police fitness test. 22+ years ago I could do it sub 8 mins. I think my best was about 7.40 (Aged 22). Today I would get the bus :)
