yea my friends g5 is capable of loading up in 8 seconds , we timed it once -

The Mac Pro doesn't even boot up in 8 seconds.

44 secs from POST to desktop. 1:18 by the time ATI CCC, konfabulator's stuff and all that finishes loading from watching the HDD light go out.

29 secs for the G5 soon as the grey screen appears to desktop and all loaded.

Yes!! I found the same when i put my x2 in the dfi mobo, took loads longer than with my athlon 4000 in the same mobo.

not a bad idea actually, keep your comp on standby and show it off to your friends by turning it on within 5 secs

not sure but if you follow the guide to check see what happenes. since ive been using this my system feels a lot better.

59 seconds from button to login promt.

20 before screen is even shown for initial post on my dfi/ati, then an age for the sata raid partition to be detected.

Once the actual first windows screen is flicked up it's very fast. There is no more then 1 or 2 seconds from login to doing anything.
