If I am doing everything right. How fast should I be gaining muscle? I have increased in weight by 2lbs in a few days but this seems quite fast.

Bare in mind the body fluctuates daily. Depending on how much water you've drank or food you've eaten. How much you've drained the snake or how many cables you've laid etc......... A day to day reading of a few days isn't that accurate. Over a week, perhaps. Comparing each week is the way to go.

I'm not sure there is an established amount because of the thousands of variables.

I could train for 6 months and put on 3-4lbs of lean muscle, and for me that is amazing as I'm carrying low fat. Some people see big gains in short amounts of time but also gain quite a bit of fat too.

2lbs is nothing really, I can weigh 3-4lbs between my lightest and heaviest points in the day.

At best unless you're starting out you're usually looking at around at in most cases it's around 1 -2lbs of muscle that you can probably gain in a month in a best case scenario, however in most cases it's usually around 0.5-1.5 lbs a month.

It all depends on a lot of things your diet being one of the main contributing factor, gaining weight isn't = to gaining muscle, you will gain fat and retain water and glycogen all of these will increase your overall weight gain.

I think i read somewhere that you can gain 5 - 10lbs a year if you do everything right. Also take into account a total noob will make relatively huge gains in the first few months.

i would agree with the 0.5-1.5lbs a month.

10-12lbs a year if you get everything bang on.

Fluctuations in weight will be due to volume of food & fluid ingested, bowel movements, water retention, drops/increases in bodyfat, muscle gain etc.

When on a Keto cut about a year ago I my weight would drop 2KG overnight. I was urinating like a race horse though. Generally during this period I would drop .2/.3KG every 2 days or so.

I wouldn't watch the scales when you're trying to gain weight it's not a clear indicator. Weigh in once a month, obsessing over scales will leave you confused and unnecesarily disappointed.
