I have this belkin router and well... its a £50 paper weight.

Looking into getting a new one with a lot of features and a friend recommended TP-Link.

I need to be able to port forward for games and bandwidth controll so i get no lagg..

Most TP-Link router seem to have this...

But why are they soo cheap?? If they are as good as some reviews say how come the prices are so low?

Confused....

Belkin are cheap/budget aimed. TP-Link are below that imo. You get what you pay for.

I would suggest Netgear, Dlink or Linksys.

I've used some of the TP-Link equipment and I've yet to have any problems with them. A few of my clients have brought their own from competitors in town and I've gone and set them up as they couldnt figure them out. Once they are set up they are quite reliable it seems.

From personal uses I wouldnt touch a netgear. Cisco and Draytek are the best followed by some of the higher end dlinks.

If you're looking for a new advanced router I'd go with something that either support by Tomato (The Linksys WRT54G range) or supported by DD-WRT (More devices). I personally use Tomato, but DD-WRT is a lot more enterprise level advanced.

Ok well then i'd definitely stay away from belkin, had 2 of their crappy things die on me. A d-link router also died. Best one so far has to be the netgear I have, so i'd recommend a netgear router.

i was looking at the draytek vigor 2710N a while back. Are they really worth the money?

Draytek are a step above the three I mentioned above are more typically used in small business (not necessarily the models you're looking at but they know what they are doing).

Had a vigor 2900 that was up for over a year without dropping thats how much I want a dlink again. Port throttling was amazing
