How Good Are Your Ears? Test you audio range.

Im not even going to attempt this - i have the worlds most useless headphones.
But its interesting that most other animals could be having proper conversations with each other - we just can hear them :)

Age: 21

Range: 20 Hz - 22 KHz. Although strangely I struggled with 19 and 20 KHz. This was when I listened through my hifi.

Using my laptop speakers I got:

150 Hz - 17 KHz. Is it cheating if you turn the volume up, or should the test be conducted at the same volume throughout?

20Hz - 22KHz \:D/

Only in the one ear, because I'm stone deaf in my right ear, but my good ear did pick all the frequencies up no problem (though 20Hz was low). All this on my 'cruddy' £19 Technika wireless headphones lol

Age:22
30Hz - 17Khz

Although being a sound engineer has severely damaged my hearing over the past few years.

If you want to have a proper hearing test, download a free tone generator from http://www.tucows.com/preview/240287.

The MP3 file included doesn't accurately measure your hearing range anyway, as most humans cannot hear beyond 20Khz, let alone 22Khz.

Lol....my dog HATES it. :D Kept on stopping and starting 20khz and he went mental.

My speakers only do 63-20khz. Gale Silver Monitors. They were making some noise at 20khz, but it must just have been whatever tone they produce when trying to do 20hz.

These tests are more for your speakers than ears (unless yours are crap or you have top of the range speakers designed for accuracy (not PC speakers)).

20Hz just makes my cones wobble like mad lol. (Can't go that low, need a high end sub to) 20KHz and 21KHz produces pressure in my ears (can make out a faint whistle on 20KHz). 22KHz, no sound. Should hit the cut off frequency.

B&W 601 S3 and NAD C320BEE. Aged 18.

That test is utter rubbish because I can hear everything when I know I've got hearing problems.
I'm 50 and been playing in rock bands for the last 38 years.
Last night I was doing the sound for a KISS tribute band and my ears are still humming.
I know for a fact that my hearing is defective above 16khz because where I work (NHS) I had the audiologists do a test on me.
You're wasting your time with this test.

Heard all of it.

Cambridge Audio A1Mk3 (turned up to 1/4 of the way) with Gale Monitors.
