How good is superhub as a router compare to routers?

Sorry to hijack you thread OP.

With the superhub can you use another router and get rid of the superhub altogether ?.

My PC is wired, while the Mrs is using wireless.

The superhub is also the cable modem, so no you can't get rid of it altogether. The most you could do is set it up to run in modem only mode, in which case it is pretty much nothing more than a modem, and use your own router for all your main router device needs.

Ah yeah, how can i forget that doh.

2.4GHz. I've not heard anyone else find it particularly great apart from yourself! It was 'ok' but found it annoying if wanting to use a laptop or phone on the lower signal parts or in the conservatory.

I found the superhub a pile of poo as a fully functional wired/wireless router.

It kept rebooting at random several times every day, and a replacement unit did exactly the same. It is a known issue still to be fixed by virgin.

However since I switched it to modem mode only and connected my old wireless router it has not rebooted once.
