I never went to uni but I did a Btec computer studies... did not try hard but did quite well since I loved IT.. got distracted writing programs other than those we were taked to and refused to learn german (part of the IT course)
You can pass uni doing about 10-12 hours a week then 30-40 hour in the final few months so really you have a lot of time to play about. (depending on course and uni)

Not overly hard. I thought I would need to work a lot harder to achieve what I did. My uni was a bit of a joke. Was on a course where the modules where already predefined. This meant that the vast majority of modules where either too easy, time fillers or just pointless.
Could've worked harder, got a 2.2. Doesn't seem to have been too much of a problem though, I don't put the score on my CV and have never been asked for it.
Quickly realised that at my university, to get a first would require an insane amount of work (and a lot of luck). Also that to get a 2:1, I could put my feet up and do very little work - guess which I chose
It really depended on the time of year, work load, coursework, exams etc. At the start of the semester there wasn't much work going, by the end there most definitely was!
Yeah, that's true. The greater challenge with employment is coordinating other people efforts to meet the KPI of the team. Largely, with uni it was only you that was impacted by how much/little work that you did.
I worked "quite hard" in the first year as I wanted to jump straight into the 2nd year of a BSc course (I started on HND) which I managed to do. After that I did the average amount to get my 2:1. Getting a 1st would've been twice the work/effort.
p.s. I ran a counter-strike league while at uni in my final couple years which was time consuming
