Hello

Just wanted to get an idea of how you have hidden your cables. Pictures would be awesome! :)

I'm trying to hide 4 cables, have to get some trunking"

Routing them behind the plasterboard.

Just make a series of holes and keep feeding the cable from one to another, when you reach where the amp is just fill em back in.

The glass fibre rods from screwfix are superb for routing cables, one of the best purchases ive made, it made routing the TVLink cables for my sky really easy behind the plasterboard upstairs.

:D

WORKS LIKE A DREAM :D

Well I am in rented accomodation so no butchering the walls. I just use the cabinet and speaker stands as best as possible.

Not done it yet, but thinking some d-line trunking from screwfix will do the job.

I've got that, looks quite good.

Sanded it and put two coats of emulsion on it to match the walls. Not ideal but better than the rectangular variant.

Only issue I have is that I had to buy 2x1.5m as that's the smallest pack they do. I've used the spare trunking as cable tidy.

As an AV Installer I usually would use D-Line products (when chasing walls or feeding cables in the wall cavity is not possible). They do a range of colours too.

I phoned up the D-Line director once (only a small company) and he was a real friendly bloke and very helpful so I feel a bit loyal now. He phoned me back some weeks later to see how I was getting on with his products etc. I'm not even a major user when you realise the products are in trade counters and B&Q.

You can also get proper aluminium trunking which looks nice when used in the right environment.

in behind the skirting board is always an option, depending on how old/new your house is it could be a simple job taking them off and nailing them back on....might sound brutal but its another suggestion....i've got all my speaker wires ran in behind my skirting board..but then again i also have a massive space under my floor so i just went under the house and ran my sky cables and extra telephone wires where needed and just popped them up through the flooring

Haven't bothered, the wires for the fronts aren't worth it, and as for side/surrounds only a few speaker cables going around the carpet edge.

Its speaker cabling that annoys me the most as it invariably has to travel the furthest. I use flat speaker cable and hide it under the carpets.

I always intended to hide them away, but I've never done it and now I kinda accept them being there. I really ought to hide them away some day though!
