Back in the day, there used to be a website with all the CPUs and batches and whatnot listed and how high people got them, anyone know of something simular? Or how high my C2D 2160 SLA3H will go? I've just bought a decent board off MM, and got some adiquate ram, and I was hoping to punch this through the roof as I've been told many a time that these little wonders are much akin to the old 1.6a's :)

the stock clock for you CPU is 1.80ghz, so with a decent cooler, some good thermal grease and a nice motherboard i would assume you could get it to about 2.5ghz to 2.8ghz depending on how well your heat distribution is.

According to the below link, your CPU's thermal spec is 61degrees celcius, so when you overclock, you need to watch the CPU temp when on load and make sure it doesnt go over 61degrees :)

I'm getting a Intel D975XBX2, which looks like an alright board, I'm hoping that the difference in batches isn't as much of a contending issue as it was back in the Athlon days :)

Seen several hitting 3.2GHZ+ with no problems.

I had an old E2180 running @ 3.5GHZ for about a year 24/7 (F@H) with 1.45v
The temps were around 65-70c under full load, & AFAIK the thermal limit for these CPU's is 100c.

what kinda cooling were you running when you had it at 3.5? Would say a zalman cu flower do the trick to taking it to ~3ghz?
