US: How i met your mother

I've been watching it on Netflix since Christmas, and I have to say I like it. I've seen all the Netflix ones now and am on S9.

It took me about 4 seasons before I started to find it properly funny, but looking at Robin kept my interest until then.
 
Am I the only one that felt utterly disappointed by the actress choice for Teds wife? I mean 8 series of build up before you see her and she is.... weird looking with funny teeth, annoying personality and the actress can't act.

Not at all.. She has that, not in you face, hotness.. ;)
 
She's basically female version of Ted. The same "zoolander" grimace, "too old to be sweet" oddball-ness etc. However, I am unconvinced if she can carry future spin off show as a lead.
 
Kinda glad this is finishing, the first couple of series were brilliantly good but the past few seasons for me have been absolute rubbish. Only reason i kept watching it was because ive been watching from day one.

Barney is probably the best character in the series but even hes well past his sell by date. But out of all of them he has been the best, the rest ie Ted, Robin, Lilly and Marshall really werent that great. For me Barney carried all of them.
 
Have watched it since it started and I still enjoy it, but the last season has become a little tedious, and I blame Ted. His obsession for being a bit of a wetty started about 3 seasons ago and have become so melodramatic and tiresome.
However apart from the BBT, it is the only other easy going funny show that I enjoy. I will miss it.
 
I have to say that on the whole I've enjoyed it - although I am glad it's ending rather than going on ad infinitum!

I tend to wait until I know a show has been renewed a for couple of seasons at least before starting as there is nothing more annoying than getting into a show and then it being cancelled by the genius execs in the US!

Have to agree 100% here - this is one of the funniest shows around at the moment with some fantastic subtle humour!!! :D

Love it too, every episode guarantees a laugh if not many. Unfortunately the latest season of How I met you Mother has left me wanting and to be honest I'm not sure I care that much any more.
 
Last 2 episodes were on last night. I'm, er, just on my way to America to see it from a Tivo recording.
 
Controversial.
Not sure how I felt about that... Sad to see it go obviously, as it was a good show and easy watching. The FRIENDS of the 21st century if you will, but not the happy ending I was expecting.
 
I'll watch it tonight, but I don't have many expectations, the show drags by its pointlessness (Like the stupid Robin thing, "MYBE I SHUD B WIV U TED").

EDIT : Just read the Wiki page. WTF.

NO WONDER I HATE THIS SHOW (But have spent to much time I must finish watching it)

Well that's that. Another of the shows I watch has died.

I find it quite surprising that to end the show they have Ted's destiny women die, Robyn and Barney divorce with Barney becoming a single dad of some whore's kid and then Ted hooking up with his second choice Robyn.

Never mind. There's very few TV shows that have a decent ending that weren't already written with the ending in mind from the very beginning (although did the kids actually age at all, perhaps it was pre-planned?).
 
How I Met Your Mother doesn't get close to Friends at all for me, I don't even know if I can bring myself to watch the finale of HIMYM tbh.

I hammered HIMYM pretty religiously (Having no job when I did) I believe I caught up in season 7 (So I saw the characters flip flop continuously)

I think I read somewhere they were told the ending many years ago.
