how is everyone else streaming from their pc to 360?

do i have to have WMP11 loaded up and running in the background to stream the music or do i just have to point it in the direction of my music library, set up sharing and let it through my firewall?

yeah just set it up to share with the 360 and add the folders you want it to monitor and share and it will work fine, no need to have it actually running

you don't need to leave it running in bg as the network thing runs in background I think

Yup, WMP11 in Vista has some service that does that. Now sure about XP.

Last nigth my WMP11 service kept crashing out, no idea why but it was annoying. seem to have it fixed for now but i must say im loving this new system as it works soo much better than before. TVversity and transcode were ok but now i can skip forward and back with no issues of sync or delay.

Only problem is I now want to copy allot of my DVDs onto my PC and Im now onto 2Tb of diskspace in my main PC.

im going to have to look into getting more storage, only issue is i cant get files to stream that are attached via mapped networked drives to my main server.

WMP11 is all you need. works a treat. No need for 3rd party stuff since the latest update

Agreed, after a fine chap posted the link yesterday for me (sorry don't remember the name) I set it up and was very impressed with how it worked. No buffering, good quality, will be using that from now on.
