How is it this bad?

Yep,

Most of my problems have been them just not turning up

I was using parcel2go and in the end just got so damned fed up I went down to royal mail and just paid more for postage.

They just don't show up and say nothing.

It's ridiculous s and infuriating

You fellas should try in future:

http://www.transglobalexpress.co.uk/

Usually "UPS Saver" service comes up the cheapest and is the best service I ever used. Next day to UK, within 3 working days to USA (and often next day), 3-5 days to Australia and China etc.

My wife is an artist so we use this service to ship all her work and sold pieces. Super delicate sculptures, paintings, drawings etc. I've also used it for ebay sales etc. Never had any problem.

I've done the parcel2go, parcel farce, and royal snail etc malarkey and I have compared the prices to the above service and it always works out cheaper and the service is fantastic!

May help some of you out.

i wont order off companies that use city link or yodel. had my fingers burnt enough :(

What a dumb and unhelpful answer. Why bother posting?

I'm guessing that if you think my comment is dumb then you are just as clueless as the OP.

As many others have said, like me, it's the OP's responsibility to ensure the couriers took the correct parcels.

Even more so as the OP states that the value was over £2000.

I would be the one and only person to stand there and say 'Courier one, here's you parcels, courier two, here's your parcels'.

Also, there is no GD rule that says a post has to be helpful, it's GD after all.

Have a happy parcel day!!!!!!!!!!

So naive and clueless of me to pay money to a company, with the expectation that they're able to collect the right packages, on time,

So naive to pay money, with the expectation that the package will go to the right place,

So naive to expect that the guy will turn up, having just been told "yep he's on his way"

So ****ing clueless and stupid, to expect that any of this was going to work, to have any amount of faith that allows me to go to work and get on with my life, without having to stand waiting all day for someone to turn up, without having to check and correct every single part of the process.

All my fault, every part of it.

"Should have used DPD"

In all seriousness we deal with most of the main couriers at work (not our choice as 3rd parties often book ones we wouldn't even touch ever) and so far DPD is still providing head and shoulders better service than the others *touch wood*.

Yeah, every time i've bought stuff from DPD they've been pretty good, in hindsight I totally would have used them, it's just that parcel-monkey's way of doing everything from a central place seemed quite good and streamlined,
