how does tha set up sound for general use programming and the odd game like need for speed

also in a month ill have about 100 ish quid to spend on this pc any ideas if there is much point spending on it and if so what to get

I’m a bit confused, have you just been given this PC? or have you had this for while? If you have owned it for awhile why are you asking us what it is like?

^^
If he's getting the £100 in a month I'd say flog the 7900's and then get a 5770, the 7900's should go for enough to make up the difference.

Sounds more like a gaming rig that might be used for programming once in a while :p

Edit: some useful input - dual monitors as mentioned above. Helps me no end at work...

i would also suggest getting dual moniters if you havn't already.

very very useful when programming

/Agreed,
I cant program without having 4 VS C++ tabs in my face, clicking/browsing back and fourth through files and code is a nightmare otherwise!

I run tripple monitors for dev work, 2 x spanned Visual Studio showing 2 panes, and 1 for SQL.

To the OP, you need at least 4GB RAM, I would focus on stability and put the main board to stock temps, I would invest in a stable PSU, and consider 64 bit OS, everything else fine.

yep using double monitors and agreed lovely to work with 2 monitors tbh:)

and thanks for the suggestions looks like ill be ebaying the 790gs and the psu is a seasonic 800w i think i cant member tbh
