How is the onboard sound with Asus Z77 Maximus V Formula

I bought a Asus Maximus V Formula & Asus Xoner DX2 sound card, but been reading up on the on-board sound on this mobo's sound, but can't find if it does DD Live or DTS encodes? Do I even need a sound card?

Will this mobo encode DD and DTS? Because the sound card has DD Live and DTS encodes
