How is this setup?

Have been thinking about upgrading, god knows I need it! Current system:

AMD sempron 3400 2.2ghz
2gb DDR 400mhz
Geforce 6100 onboard (6600gt died

)

This setup is from 2005 and i have been out of the loop since then, but want to get back into PC gaming.

Been thinking of upgrading to this:

How will this handle games I throw at it?

P.S. I already have a monitor @ 1440x900, case + all the rest.

id say get a 5770 and a 600w psu
in the future you may wish to get 2 5770's as they scale really well

Swap the 4890 out for a 5770 and get a larger capacity PSU and you're pretty much sorted

Have you looked into i5? it might be worth a look

I've been looking at the i5's, even the i7's but they're just too expensive for me, and I'm not a Crysis nut

*edit* wow with a 5770 and 600w PSU it has actually worked out cheaper o.O £478.43. again thanks for the help!

I'd go for a 125w 965 with an M4A79XTD Evo board, I have one and it's never missed a beat, the guys at OCUK told me to go for that over the Asus M4A785TD-V because it has the newer 790X chipset. Doesn't have any integrated graphics though, but who cares.

Then you've got a recipe for 4ghz...
