Well Seagate's 1.5Tb is 4x375Gb platters. Hitachi's original 1Tb drive was a 5 platter design so combining those gives the potential for 1875Gb drives already. 400Gb platters aren't a huge jump so I'd say it'll be a marketing decision about when rather than a technical one.
