How long before I need to upgrade?

I've been running a [email protected] coupled with 4GB of DDR2 1066Mhz for a while now. I added a 6970 2GB when they were released and it maxes out pretty much every game except GTA IV. I've yet to play a game that I like that it can't handle.

Now obviously this can't last forever. I've felt no need to upgrade to the likes of an i5 2500k purely because I wouldn't see any difference with regards to games.

So when will my parade come to an end. When are games going to need more than my 3.6Ghz exhausted quad can output?

Games I play at the moment are

Farcry 2
Fallout NV
Black Ops
COD MW2
GRID
Dirt 2
BFBC2
PES 2011
Fifa 11
Split Second
Tomb Raider GOL
Crysis 2
Crazy Taxi :p

They can all be maxed out and sustain 60FPS easily on my 1920x1200 monitor. Quite impressive for a chip that's over four years old I think.

I have same cpu at same speed with OC 5870. I have no desire to upgrade for the foreseeable future. I'll see what IB/BD and even later Kepler has to offer and maybe review later on this year but for the time being I'm sticking. Makes no sense to upgrade for the sake of it.

ive got basically the same system (with a 5850) and im looking to upgrade in 2 years time.

mine still flys along playing all my games so im happy with my system for now.

seem's a waste of money to upgrade if your system still does what you want it to do.

Well this is my thoughts also. Anyone else have a different opinion?
