How long before moving in?

So how long did it take you to move in with your OH?

Had the first discussions with my gf last night about this, it's taken 9 months so far

. I like to think i'm sensible and take things at a reasonable pace.

Both of us were living with parents so about 3.5 years before we got a house.

I have never shifted in with anyone but if i did i would wait until both you and your OH are completly comfortable about it

we were living together first (shared house). So we have never been a couple and not lived together!

I'm living in shared house, she's with her parents. My tenancy is up soon, she wants to move out. It just makes sense, that and love each other to bits

You don't really know a partner until you have lived with them so if you think it's on the cards then give her a test drive. Keep it rental though as the financial side of a break up can be a nightmare.
Worst thing about this is living with someone makes you privvy to there worst side. My only advise here is don't try to get to know everything about your partner as it shatters the illusion.

Woah, you live right near my sister

Being in shared housing'll help with the shock some people get when moving, so I reckon 9 months is all right. Just make sure she's ready and it's not a little "I wanna move out" phase because that's the last thing you want.

Well we are both 25 so I think we know what we're doing

was with my g/f for about 5 years before we rented a flat together !

and then about 8 months later we bought a place together !

before we both lived at home with our parents

It was about 6 months before we moved in together. We got a nice little flat and it was great. Then we had a baby and moved to a house and weve been here ever since.

They never officially "moved in".

The first couple of weeks were odd nights, then it shortly turned to every night...

Thats how it happened with me to. my b/f had his own place 1bedroomed flat, so i just moved in gradually then after 2yrs we brought a house together. We'd of been together 5yrs this year (june).

You just know though when something is right. my bfs cousin went out with a guy for 7yrs still living at home they got married within 8months of living 2gether they'd got divorced. So my advice it be careful. Do like suggest & Rent somewhere 1st. I no its dead money but its easier to get out of if things go sour.

Hoping to move in with my gf begining of our 3rd years at uni. Will have been together for nearly 4 years by then. Really looking forward to it, bit scary at the same time though :eek:
