How long can you store white wine, rosè and prosecco?

We have huge families. First birthday party's are similar to wedding party's (although there were 500 at our wedding so no where near as big as that) where it's a big hall with food and alcohol and dancing. We hired entertainers for the kids too which was nice. Cake, camera men, balloons, decorations etc. All in all about 7k+ I reckon, tried to talk the wife out of it but I had no chance haha.

Haha not really, just a few uncles. But have to make sure there is enough.

Don't know many Punjabi people then?

Punjabi events are the best! So much food and booze with plenty of crazy aunties and uncles putting my dance moves to shame!

The wine will probably keep for at least a year or two, even in the shed! Extremes of temperature aren’t much good (especially heat).

yeah but 100 litres of hard liquor for 200 people is insane. i know plenty and none would have bought 100 litres of spirits for 200 people or 100 bottles of wine for 200 people. but both would be extreme overkill.

did you also buy 100 cases of budweiser and another 100 cases of miller?

Ermm what's so insane about having a bottle of each type for every table and a few spares? Everyone can have whatever they like, and we save any extras for the next party.

Unlimited draft and bottle of beer were included in the venue price. As well as water and soft drinks.

nothing wrong with it per say apart from now your planning on storing it all in a shed. whereas you could you know just order more it's not going to run out.

the smart thing would have been to go around the tables and ask them what they need bottles of. take their order and drop it off. that way you don't need as many. don't have as many left over and you don't offend any baptised sikhs or muslims, etc. like i said before not everyone drinks. so to have 3 litres on a table where nobody is drinking would look stupid.

for example i know at my party i only had 1 person from my family who likes brandy. so i bought 1 litre of it. i didn't get one for every table. my dad organised the whisky for him and his buddies and i got the vodka. i can't remember if we got any bacardi nobody drinks it up here. might have got 3 litres just in case but if i got one for every table i would have had the issue of taking 50-60 litres of it home.

This seems an underestimate; most sources claim 3 to 5 years for most white wines, and up to 2 years for Prosecco; although it'll be less if they're not being stored properly.

That first link of yours is daft (part 4 is plain wrong). Everything I've said above is correct and while may be a little cautious it's clear nvp doesn't have a cellar to stick this stuff in and am providing general advice.

They get their data from good quality sources. Even more conservative sources don't agree with your up to one year. There's also general agreement that longterm storage in the fridge is a bad idea. Put your wine in the fridge to chill it down before drinking, don't keep it there long term.

If he's planning on sticking it in a shed, then it won't last, but while it'll obviously last better with a really good wine cellar, an understairs cupboard or somewhere reasonably temperature stable should be fine for a lot longer than the year you're suggesting.
