How long do ASUS take to get a GPU repaired?

Has anyone had a GPU sent to ASUS for repair and how long did it take you to get it back?

Mines just been sent there during RMA but I am cautious about being without a GPU for a long time. Not just for gaming but for video editing also and some charity work I do also. I basically can't be without one for much more than a week.
 
Wow. That's sucky. I better get something off the MM to tide me over then. Hope I don't loose too much money. Would be August before I get it back. Kinda wish I had just bought and fitted a new fan myself now. Would have taken all of 20 seconds.
 
Might want to enquire with gibbo what's going on as they're meant to have a fast RMA service with asus.

Pretty annoying considering it's not my fault a blooming fan blade came flying off at full speed! I don't see why I shouldn't get the same level of service as someone whos GPU died in a different way. I mean isn't all damage physical in one way or another? at some level?

Can't say I will be buying ASUS again at this rate.

From your other thread iirc you said it was bought before the Turbo rma service was announced, did it fall under the Turbo rma service or just treated as a normal rma process?

Because it is "physical damage" it doesn't apply to turbo RMA. only non-physical damage gets turbo RMA.

Now the way I see it... that could be everything out the question... because if a GPU has a problem. then on some level it will be physical damage. But maybe I am just being cynical.
 
I don't think your being cynical at all, what is the point of having a super RMA scheme with ASUS if when it is needed they just ignore it.

Very poor show from OCUK, quite surprising really as normally there customer service is exemplary.

If I was you I would raise this point in the customer service section and get one of the team to sort it out for you, as in my opinion ( as well as many other I'm sure) this isn't satisfactory.

I have raised it. Bailey has been really good at replying to me quickly. Sent me a DPD pickup barcode and stuff. Sadly, the ASUS turbo RMA service does seem to be a little "cloak and dagger". As you may not get it. It sure isn't the knight in shinning armour RMA for me. I'm now trawling eBay for a used 390x that I can buy and sell when mine eventually returns. But I dare say with the impending 480 release I'm going to take a big hit on the price I pay vs what I receive in 6 weeks time....

If there is no signs of "physical damage" it applies, yet due to a high likelihood the plastic went brittle through heat degradation or sub par parts(blown capacitators/vrms etc), it doesn't.:(

Either way, Likelihood I won't be buying ASUS again.

A: It broke a fan blade in the first place.
B: Likely I have a long wait in store.
C: Turbo RMA ain't any use to me because who knows what's going to fail on your GPU.
 
Just get something really cheap some thing you can live with and will not lose much money as it may not be 28 days it does say upto and changing a fan is well not a timely thing its just the process that takes the time backlogs ect ....

It would not surprise me that it will be investigated re the damaged blade or they may not even care this may take time (not saying you damaged it but still asus may think this).

My past experiences with some of these companies RMA some not good and they will try n wiggle out of owt if they can ....

So keep us updated we have your back :)

Oh believe me it can easily be the full amount as they are known to drag their heels if they feel like it.

Seems so silly. Because if they do. It just means they have lost a customer for life in me. I can't imagine why they would intentionally p*** off their own customers?
 
Stick a new fan on or sell it as it is.

Sadly I thought I would be getting the OCUK "Turbo" RMA service, so I have already sent it to OCUK. Apparently that doesn't cover this so the card has been sent to ASUS. I wouldn't have sent it to OCUK if I had known it would be sent off to ASUS.

That sucks, OCUK being a bit nasty there :(. I hope you get a quick turn around but Asus warranty is nothing to behold speed wise unfortunately.

I've had a good experience with my swift. Exchanged at the door. But it did take a few weeks to get it sorted.

I will be sure to report back how long it takes etc. You never know, it might be quick. If OCUK has a word. all they need to do is replace a £3 fan. It's literally 4 screws.

Just a bit sucky because I've recently had a baby, so all my outdoor sports and activities are kind of out of the question. The only downtime I get is a bit of gaming in the evening when the little one has gone to bed. I guess I will try see what this thing they call Television is like these days.
