How long in the gym?

No sorry, I meant in regards to your weight lifting. Surely you wish to keep as much lean mass as possible while you get smaller (Unless you are 22 stone lean which would be hella impressive!).

I have never been a strict bodybuilder so that may answer your question;).

I pop in and out of the Big bike thread and get so jealous of all of you guys and your pretty bikes and amazing scenery:cool:.

Sorry for totally recking your thread Scubascorpion:(.

That's fine mate, looks like there isn't one hard and fast rule...

Stuff I've read always seems to be based around an hour.
However a mate was in the gym for two hours earlier doing cardio and shoulders.
I said give it up and go home... To be told his PT said otherwise

Got me thinking, that's all

You can't get one size fits all. You have to listen to your body and do what your body tells you and what you feel works for you.

If you do high intensity shorter periods would be better, as your rest stops would be smaller. If you're doing long rest pauses then you can drag it out. Make sure that if you do a long one you feed yourself in between.

Generally I can do pretty much all I need to in 45 minutes to an hour, that's not including any cardio or warmups really. I do often spend longer in the gym but if I need to get through a session I can have it all wrapped up in an hour easily.

Depends on what Im doing. I find my Legs and shoulders session can be finished in an hour(But im only using body weight on legs right now). But my back, tricep day and my Bicep and chest day go closer to 1 hour 30 - 2 hour

Used to be around 75-90 mins x 4 times a week. Now a quick blast before work of 45 mins x 5 days a week. Not really long enough for me but I don't have a choice as the gym doesn;t open any earlier and I can't start work any later!

when i was at uni it was about 2 hours, now i am pressed for time it's about an hour, however sometimes i'll go for the extra half hour, often depends on my mood and the day i've had. I'm a lot more focused nowadays, when i was training in the uni gym i would often float about and do a bit of everything.

OT- i didn't know Tank was shrinking, best of luck buddy, what's your target weight?

Spend about 45 mins lifting, then if I include I also do muay thai 2x per week @ an ho9ur and a half. And do cardio most days usually a half hour runs, enjoy it.
