How long is the longest system update you've done on a tablet?

I bought a Doogee T20 the other day. I've been trying to set it up today.

It got a system update earlier. It downloaded ok. But installing is taking all day.

I've had to shut the device down as I don't feel safe with it charging overnight.

This is the second tablet of this brand I've had. I remember the other one took quite a while. But not this long.

I'll try again tomorrow.

Is there any general tips that might be causing the install problems?

I can't see what storage type it uses and eMMC is less common these days but one thing which massively affects updates on these kind of tablets is the performance of the storage especially stuff like eMMC which is generally OK but for some reason really slow when doing updates like activity.

Trying to do any kind of updates on Windows 10/11 tablets with only 32GB storage and 2-4GB RAM is problematic and time consuming - sometimes taking well over a day.

Certainly sounds doogee for it to take so long. Any idea what sort of update it is? If it's a system update (new android version) then these are typically much larger than the usual security updates, and will take much longer to apply. That said I usually stay with better branded Android tablets and even the low end Samsung/Huawei/Lenovo don't take too long to update to the latest firmware when setting up from fresh, usually around an hour at most.
