How long should u game for?

There's a check list

Do I need the loo?
Am I hungry?
Do I have to do anything outside?
Are my eyes bleeding?
Does the cat want to play something else?

If most/all are no then I can keep playing till I change my mind (can be mins can be most of a day)

Back in the days of civ4 just coming out (and easy 6th form) that check list was really just do I have a bottle of coke to hand?

I used to be able to play pretty much any game for an entire day. Now I get bored after an hour or two unless it's something really special.

Steam says I have put 13.5 hours gaming into the last 2 weeks, it used to be a hell of a lot more than that when I was a student, I probably hit that figure in a day

Usually spent an hour or so a night on the PS3. If I have nothing on at a weekend I might spent a few more hours, generally I do it in 1-2 hour stints before I break away and do something else

At the height of my teenage years in holidays I was wracking up 12 hours with no issue...

Now a days I'm too busy to do more than a few hours. Also get bored a lot easier. Even after a while skyrim went down to about 2 hours max.

No glasses yet

Some nights I'll do nothing, some nights I'll play a couple of games of FIFA when I switch on the Xbox, other nights when I have a bit of free time I'll settle down and play Skyrim (or similar) until I'm falling asleep.

Game until you drop.

Everybody else does whatever they want in their spare time. Our relatively small time on this planet should be spent having fun, and doing what we enjoy (providing you're not hurting anyone else).

I don't think it actually matters as long as you don't get stupidly dehydrated, tired, or hungry... I can't see any real 'damage' ocurring.

When I was in a gaming phase (I don't really game much at all now), I would just play until either my bladder became painful, thirst became unbearable, or my mum told me to stop.

Personally I play however long it entertains me for or I have something else I need to be doing. I understand why I probably should take more regular breaks sometimes but then I casn judge that myself anyway rather than follow gudielines.

For FPS's I find a couple of hours is probably enough, particularly in frantic multilayer stuff - it just makes my eyes hurt.
But back in the days of Total Annihilation LAN matches, a single 6 player game could last from friday night through to sunday afternoon with the occasional break for food and tea. The few hours sleep you'd get, when everyone was too tired to concentrate anymore, was plagued by visions of Kbots advancing in massive base rushes, across metal worlds broken only by the refuse of previous slogging battles.
TA, still the best rts I ever played, even if it did suck the life out of you :D

TA arrrr fond memories, loved that game and still have the orignal box , CD etc :)

Hard to say, I'd say I game for about 10-15 hours a week at a guess? But I rarely watch TV, maybe 1-2 hours a month. It's amazing the amount of people at work etc who say "I don't have time to play games like you do" but I know full well that they spends 49 out of 50 evenings watching 5 hours of TV

Short answer: I play games when other people watch TV, there is no time spent over what they do.

I have found this too. I would rather be gaming than watching TV. I catch up on the previous evening's TV in the morning before work. Probably game a good few hours a weekday evening and maybe a full day a weekend.

These days varies between 1-2 hours a day
Back in the days of WOW about 10 hours or more a day, Glad I quit
feels so much better going out and spending time with family and going to the gym. Feel sorry for all the people still stuck in the long hours of gaming with WOW

I felt gutted i sold my account for £100 quid and they wrre selling one char alone for 450 afterwards but im so glad. The feeling you have to commit so many hours just to get a decent gameplay, im happy just switching my xbox on when i feel like it and having a couple hours on it
