How long to brake pads last on average?

The Pads on the ZT are the originally factory ones and thats done 52k. They've worn out now though. (in the last week and a half that i've had it!!) :D
 
My Astra had the original pads and discs at about 45k miles when I wrote it off

They were rather worn though and did need replacing in the next few thousand miles
