I made some nice flapjacks last Monday but then came down with quite severe food poisoning -- not related to them incidentally! I'm now recovered and have a big pile of them left and just wondering if they'd be ok? They've just got oats, butter, sugar, assorted dried fruit in? I'm guessing butter may be the danger.. they have been in an airtight tupperware since they were made  Hate to see them go to waste!

Theyre a week old then?

How have they been stored?

As long as you haven't left them on the side open-air, and they have been in a tub or something, I wouldn't hesitate to chow down on them. :)

Yeah they're a week old. Been in a good airtight tupperware the whole time. Kinda thought they'd be ok but the girlfriend is always a bit nervous about that sort of thing. Mind you I am now after that food poisoning.. :(

There'll definitely be nothing growing on any of that lot that will cause you to come down with food poisoning, as the others have said they'll be absolutely fine especially since they've been in an airtight container.

My standard answer for all foodstuffs:

You could probably eat it in 3 months and it'd be fine.

Send us all some for helping you answer your question, that way we will all have been rewarded, and you won't have to worry.

Also I'm hungry so hurry up. :p

Some people have really become so far detached about condition of food an will only go by what a date stamp says.

If they look, smell, taste alright then they probably are.
