How loud are 120mm Deltas at 7v?

All you people who have been crazy enough to buy deltas, have you tried them at 7v? If so, how loud are they (the 120mm one from OcUK).

I ask this because the unbranded front 120mm fan in my case pushes such little air, that even on 12v i can't feel any air rushing past my hand. The Dell PC that my family uses went through a stage when the front fan made a VERY loud noise and pushed out so much air that i could feel it at the back of the case and thought that there were several rear fans. When i opened it up and saw only a single 120mm fan at the front, i thought 'I want one '

I don't mind the noise too much and will have it on a fan controller to take it down to 7v.

Thanks

EDIT: Just noticed the YS Tech 120mm fan that pushes 125cfm as a pose to the Delta's 190cfm but is cheaper and quieter. Would this be better than the Delta?

Still very loud at 7v.
I am probably not the best person to comment as I am a silence freak (a single nexus 120mm @ 7v is too loud!)... Delta's are always loud.

And asking if a fan is better really depends on your priorities... Max airflow? Silence? fairly quiet but good air movement?
If you can tolerate a hairdryer like noise when your pc is on then a delta is for you.
Personally Panaflo M1a's strike a good balance for airflow/noise... Lots of airflow and a bit noisy at 12v, fairly quiet and good airflow at 7v... And they work at 5v ;)

So i take it that even at 5v a delta will be loud?

With the YS Tech, is 125cfm a lot of air? I don't know because all of my fans are unbranded ones and i don't know what their ratings are so i have nothing to compare the YS Tech's cfm rating to.

Thanks

i got that ystech 125cfm fan, i run it at 5v and it does quieten up a bit but it does loose a lot of airflow. i switched it out for a noiseblocker sx2pro fan which was quieter at 12v and pushed out more air than the 5v ystech.

all the ehe's are too loud even at 5v tbh (i bought them all for my overclocking test pc :))
All the what? lol

Thanks for the comments guys, i think i'll still go for the ys tech but i'm going to wait until i need something else from overclockers before i buy. £8 delivery is just

I bought the Delta 80mm and its powerful it certainly budges the air, downside, i can hear it downstairs and sitting next to the tower gives me a headache, i unplugged the fan because of the noise.

Annoying thing is not only did I order it paying the p+p it wasnt too clear which adaper cable was needed for the psu, and of course i got the wrong one (theres 4 to 3 and 3 TO 4) but the site doesnt say what the Delta cable is, its a male 3 pin by the way if anyone wants to know. So anyway I then ordered a new correct cable and paid the p+p once again, arghhh lol oh well.

Actually that reminds me, it may be best if you update the Delta page on OC to say what power cable the fan has so no body else makes my mistake. And also reference the product code number so its really clear.

i would have said vacume cleaner at 12V, had one for ages then switched to a zalman and i spent about a month thinking it was broken when i switched it on and then that passed as my hearing recovered

(this all comming from somone who's had he hearing ireprably distroyed by heavy metal)

and that was only an 80mm the 120mm fans are even louder

I definately won't be getting one then if it's that bad

I may not be needing a replacement 120mm fan after all, managed to find a Coolermaster 201 and it doesn't have a 120mm fan attachment.

i have 2 pcs with a delta 120mm fan (on an xp-120) cooling both. both on full power 100% of the time. one i can hear very loudly and the other i can barely hear.

afaik the diff is down to the case. P-180 v Stacker. the p-180 deffo allows more noise from the delta through than the stacker. thankfully i dont mind the noise, although i can hear it in my bedroom - with 3 closed doors in between!

p.s. piccy of a delta on an xp-120 :p piccy 1

Hmmm, i don't think the rest of my family would be pleased if they could hear my pc in the next two or so rooms :p

Thanks for the pics ;)

I tried a 90mm delta once, emphasis on word "tried".
Put it in on my XP-90, fired up the pc, and the sound was worse than a hairdryer or hoover.
I had to shout in the vicinity of the PC to be heard!
Top cooling, but I think the deltas are designed for server rooms where noise doesn't matter. In a household they'd certainly be a little too much to bear.

you have really good taste dude!

that's the sort of setup i'm looking at upgrading too, with the XP120 and the DFI mobo.. what chip you got under the heat sink :p? if it's a 4400+ X2 with the IHS removed then you get 10/10 ;)
