Probably have about 1000 albums, EPs, etc all told, though I have never counted and never intend to.

Though as said, it's pretty much irrelevant how many I or anyone has other than for bragging rights. I probably listen to about 10 at a time on rotation, and have about just 20 albums that I could listen to and enjoy as if it were the 1st time at any time

@ OP, i own probably about 100 Compilation albums - mainly trance / house

i don't tend to buy artist albums because i rarely like a full album, only 2-3 songs, though i do own a few.

Truth be told, I was bored, stuck at home and full of the flu.

I asked whomever was online on msn to name a track, chopped them together, laid some beats and pads around it and dropped a few choice vocal samples in.

Hence why it has Nirvana in it...and The Office sample (someone asked for it) - not my kinda stuff.

So although the track choice isn't altogether what I'd wish for, I'm quite proud of how polished it is.

23,745 files in 1,940 folders using 223.4 GB

I only have around 10 CD's left. Got rid of them all years ago, gave them to a friend who's son was getting into the same kind of music as me.

You must have hard drive space you're willing to fritter away if 23k takes up over 200gb. 8xxx on mine takes up about 35gb and most of it is very decent sounding (although much of this depends on what you play it through and my setup is reasonable).

My CDs got ripped as level 5 Ogg Vorbis other than those which I *really* like which went on as level 10.

Hmm, lost count, maybe 500 albums that I own, maybe 100 that I don't but are on my Wishlist at amazon. I like music

As for ripping...~7000 tracks takes up about 170Gb using FLAC. I have 1.16TB on my server so I have enough to waste

I buy the vinyls of my favourite bands. Only got about 20 but most are classics like DSOTM, Elephant, Thriller etc

I buy CDs of decent bands, or classic albums.

The rest are just downloaded using iTunes or other substitutes
