How many computers does 1 house need!!!

Had 5 networked family computers

my x2 4400 sli 7800gtx ee
bro skt939 3000+ x800
sis skt754 2800+ fx5200
mums lappy + tbird 1gig fx graphic

Didnt even need all them. It was great when mates came round and we plaid counterstrke or bf2 with some bots.
 
Too many -
AMD X2 (24/7 rig) + Phased Yonah (bench) + iPaq (adding a Conroe rig soon)
housemate 1: Desktop + lappy
housemate 2: Desktop + lappy
housemate 3: Desktop
housemate 4: 2 lappy's

+ 2 xbox's as HTPC's in the living room
 
I have 3 pc's and 5 laptops for various family members.
Also got a few spare cases ect. floating around somewhere.

:D Mad you say! yep I agree, have been playing, building, shifting on to mates and upgrading for 2 years whilst here, but seemed to keep some of the good ones!!!!

How many machines have you lot got (dont include the zx81, speccy stuff), I only ask so I either dont feel so stupid or am not alone in my stupidity!! :D

M8 your not alone as I have nine machines here:

5 that I use for downloading, video work and music (dont get why I need five tho)

2 that belong to my kids

1 that is used an htpc sat with the tv, amp, sky box etc

1 thats dead and boxed up (sn45g shuttle)

I have 2 old junkers kicking about two. I'm not going to count them, but I've not thrown them out either. :rolleyes:
 
never throw anything out, I normally use them to update peoples computers on my street - do it for free (or a bottle of wine). Amazing how many v v v old machines are out there and they are amazed the difference of a 486 to P4 even if it is only a 1.8 etc

What I really need is 4 x large brushed aluminium cases, getting fed up with my computer room looking so untidy!

2 x RM's (To be gutted soon)
1 x Parents machine
1 x Download server
1 x Android machine (In bits, being built)
1 x Old AT machine in attic

1 server (1.6 gig, 300gb) used for downloading and security camera recording.
1 Main rig (2.6 gig, 6600gt, 500gb) used for games, storing my digital photos, music etc. Soon to be upgraded.
2 laptops. Mine and the missus's.

I suppose I also have another which is a Freecom media centre. Its kind of a computer. (another 250gb storage) for all my downloaded DVD's.
 
One pc in the office only, however I want to get a skeleton shuttle system to act as a file server. Needs to have a small footprint as space is at a premium!
 
Three PCs in my spare bedroom - my X2 gaming rig, my P4 download/DVD encoding machine, then there's the girlf's rig, for her games and Ebay.

I tend to use the download machine most cos it's on 24/7, and it's a good guinea pig for new software prior to putting it onto me best machine!
