How Many cpus you killed from over clocking?

Right ive noticed just recently people putting in various threads that a cpu life is about 20 years and over clocking it might half this .What i would like to know is how long your cpu has lasted at over clocked state and have you had any die on you.How many run daily tasks at the over clock in there sigs?
Surely if a cpu is over clocked by up to half of its natural speed it would die in a few years max if not shorter if used at that speed everyday. How long do you think your cpu would last at its maximum over clock?

I have overclocked every cpu i have had in the last 4 years, which is 3 cpu's ,

And i have never had one die on me yet, my pc is folding 24/7, the worst thing that has happened is that it failed to POST, but a quick reset of the cmos sorts this out

i haven't killed a cpu since northwood days, SNDS hit that one under phase.

most chips will still last years after heavy clocking unless they've had silly volts through them for extended periods.

0. Imo there is more chance of my p4 2.5ghz in the laptop failing even though its at stock due to the extreme heat it has to put up with. My e4300 at just under 3ghz has a relatively easy life on low volts and cool operating temps.

What voltage you using and what sort of cooling?

i'v clocked 4 CPUs so far and killed O

i had barton 2800+ (2ghz)@2.2ghz
barton 2500-M (1.8Ghz) @2.5Ghz for a year then sold it
amd64 3700+SD (2.2ghz) @2.8Ghz for 4 months then sold it
amd64 Operton 175 dualcore (2.2ghz)@ 3Ghz for 4 months and going strong

I've had a good 10+ cpus from 33Mhz right up to my X2 4200 and all except one of them have had some form of overclocking on them. Only 1 died, guess which 1 it was. . . thats right the one I didn't overclock. It was a 1GHz Athlon which just went pop 1 day and burnt itself into a nice crispy state. Might have been something to do with the heatsaink being on wrong and not actually touching 3/4's of the chip :P

Past chips:

3200+ for 6 months @ 2.6ghz -----30% OC
3700+ for 6 months @ 2.9ghz ------32% OC
4400x2 for 6 months @ 3.03ghz ------38% OC
Current e6300...1 month so far @ 3.22ghz ------73% OC

Never had a single problem. All past chips were sold to happy owners as well....and they were all bought used except the 4400x2

Never had 1 go pop, I've had P1's, P3's, 3 or 4 Athlon 64's, and about 5 or 6 C2D's now :p all OC'd none have shown any sign of damage whatsoever.

Current E6600 can take 1.7v for suicide runs, that is under SS phase tho. Runs daily @ 1.55v no problems :)

None as a direct result of overclocking but one Duron 800 I modded the vcore and cut some bridges wrong causing it to die.

Ive had the following processors in the past year or two.

3500+ upto 1.7v, 3246MHz max OC
3700+ upto 1.7v, 2900MHz max OC
3800+ X2 upto 1.7v, 3121MHz max OC
2500-mobile barton @ 2353MHz 1.85v stable OC

above for suicide runs - bad clocking San Diego, on air cooling and none of them died - ran at 1.525-1.6v 24/7.

still have a Pentium 3 450 going @ 600MHz which has lasted about 7/8 years and still functions fine but thats practically on default vcore. Ive never had a chip die from too many volts but had one tbird 1400 fail due to running too hot for an extensive period of time. Also had a 2.8c Pentium 4 a few years ago that ran at 68c full SETI load OC'd to 3.6 with 1.65v and it still works today afaik.

None. I have clocked:

Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2.4GHz 1.6V
Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2.52GHz 1.55V
Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2.75GHz 1.44V
Athlon 64 3700+ @ 2.80GHz 1.4V
Athlon 64 3700+ @ 2.93GHz 1.4V
Opteron 144 @ 2.80GHz 1.525V
Opteron 165 @ 2.80GHz 1.4V
Pentium 4 3.00GHz @ 3.5GHz "Northwood C 800FSB" 1.55V
Celeron D 320 2.4GHz @ 3.4GHz. 1.475V

Granted I havn't ran any of them overclocked for more than a year as I've been swapping out CPU's often.

I've overclocked 3 CPUs now:

Thunderbird 1333
Barton 2500
Opteron 145

with varying degrees of overvoltage. None have been damaged. :)

0 from overclocking only ever killed 1 cpu and that was because the copper shim (back in the day) dropped down when i fitted a hsf on a amd athlon thunderbird 1200mhz
overclocked too many cpus to list and many still working great :D

only ever overclocked 2 CPUs, none have died on me, only every had no post which is easilly fixed from a CMOS reset
