How many hard drives can my PSU support?

Hey guys,

Looking to add a few HD's to my rig for storage. But not entirely sure what the maximum ammount my rig supports is.

My spec is in my sig

850w has 8 SATA Connectors i think, so, 1-dvd-rw- 1-ssd, leaves 6 left for hdds. + some off molex adaptors too, if you want.
You have lots of headroom with that psu

As above you will have nothing to worry about.

There are always ways to power more drives with converters and splitters as long as you have a powerful enough PSU, which you have.

As your motherboard only has 8 SATA connectors (2 Intel SATA 3, 4 Intel SATA 2 and 2 Marvell SATA 3) you'll be limited to 8 SSD/DVD/HDD drives unless you add another controller.

With additional controller cards you could probably run around 32 Sata devices.

Fiting them in the case might be a problem.
