See thats the thing too... I stuck £20 in my tank, and in my 1.6 that will last me about 60 to 70 miles at most... I hate todays fuel prices :(

Awww, people have hated fuel prices since they first discoverd what it was. Its not that bad :)

For me anyway, WOOT!!! the 56p for optimax :p

You want to get it seen to then, even with todays fuel prices that would be very very bad.

Dude, that's like, 13mpg, even my fuel drinking car gets double that most of the time.

Done it twice in 20 years :(

First time i was 200 miles from home when I realised. Second time i was at exactly the same petrol station but about 6 years later.

Had to phone work and get someone who did have a card to pay over the phone.

Girl in station "What does he look like"
Workmate "Tall and stupid looking"

I work in a garage and frankly this sort of thing happens far too often. Dude comes to the counter after putting in £45 of Optimax and says he has no wallet, so I ask if there is anybody they can phone, as I can can take their card number over the phone. Before I've even finished the question I get "NO", ffs man try harder next time. Also at the moment shell gor rid of the chip and pin systems (coming back though) and the number of retards that aren't even using their own card is ridiculous. They even try to sign for it when the card says Mrs A Smith and its a bloke standing signing the name Alison. When I say why are you signing for it when its not your card, all I get is "but you should have chip and pin". NO, you should use your own money you tard.

/rant at petrol station *******

I have 23.50 under the drivers seat (£20 note plus change) this is so incase i need money for petrol or parking machine (reason for change) its there!

what happens if you cant pay?

doon how come its so expensive?

if you can't pay you have to go back and pay later after agreeing that with them, otherwise they just send the old bill round :) They have number plate recognition in petrol stations.

You clearly arnt driving it enough

I havnt forgot my wallet but the preset on the petrol pump didnt work and it went over the amount of money i had on me because i wasnt watching and just waiting for it to stop:eek:

done that before! paid then put petrol in thinking it would stop after £x, but it just carried on past it lol

Thats just standard price in the area. Optimax is about £1.05p per litre, diesel is still at 99.9p though and hasnt moved for a while. Guess it's because it is a rural area, half hour up the road towards Edinburgh it drop to about 96p per litre.

Tesco are currently handing out vouchers to give you 5p off a litre if you spend over £50, all well and good except the nearest Tesco fuel station is over 30 miles away. :o

Did it once, went in and tld them they took my details and i returned the next day to pay it, was at a shell garage tho, i heard the smaller companies aint so accepting.

unless your 1.6 engine is truly awful you'll get about 150-170 miles out of that

I fully agree there.

Ive had some idiot pay for my petrol, even though it was 20 quid more than he put into his own car.

But always check to see ive got me card before filling up :)

Ive done it once, £50 of Optimax too :o

Had to leave my mobile while I drove home and back which happened to be the other end of Sunderland. Lesson was learnt, check every time before filling up now.

Did this once a couple of years back, the garage was fine with it, just had to fill my details out and promised to pop in the next morning. It was one of the supermarkets, Tesco I think.
