How many have given up on SLI/Crossfire?

Ah ok my mistake, those are very nice cards. How about CF 6Gb 7990 what price those.

Probly pretty expensive, quite often i go the second hand route. Usually new high end cards are pretty expensive for me, so i tend to go mid range or high end previous gen second hand. Never had an ati/amd card before, but always meant to try one.

Currently running 5770s and its my first time using sli/xfire.
Tbh id probably go back to a single card due to ease of use and upgrading as I will now have to get rid of two cards when I upgrade.
Very good experience of xfire through with only f1 2010 causing me issues on release.

Since I haven't played Crysis in a while, I can't get over the performance has went down the pan with a pair of 5870's 11.11 and 11.11 CAP1. The game isn't even using the two cards in CrossFire.

Those of us with multiple monitors its not ideal to say the least as we have a monitor for voip browser music etc these just go blank or dont refresh once in fullscreen on sli and xfire its the Major flaw in my opinion.

30" 2560x1600 in the Centre, 20" 1200x1600 on the sides, 30" 2560x1600 is running in Quadfire 5970 4GB cards 900/1200, all screens are on the same card all screens refresh.

1800XT <- just couldn't get hold of the Master for CF.
1900XT CF
4x3870 Quadfire
2X5970 Quadfire.

Has it all been perfect and trouble free, no but i didn't expect it to be, and it likely never will, but its been less trouble than i thought it would be :).

Single cards have been out of the question because i have been using a minimum of 2560x1600 since 2006 and i like to push the settings even though i have used a single a nvidia 9200gs on the 30" 2560x1600 @ 1280x800 in between transitions.

I used to SLI two 480s, but have moved to a single 580. The 2 480s caused me too much heat (stock cooled), and i couldnt be bothered to mod them and watercool my rig. barely notice any big difference in fps - yes I have less, but feels more stable
