When I first started work I was doing between 60 and 72 hours a week, that pretty much remained constant for 17 odd years, my current job sees me doing between 40 and 50.
For ten years of that I managed to fit in playing in 2 football matches a week, Kung fu, kickboxing and five a side in the evenings, and a marriage.
Its only when I picked up fairly bad ligament damage I had to stop, coincidentaly as soon as I started having to spend more time at home I realised how unhappy I was.
I actually have the children in the classroom for 32.5 hours a week, but get to work about 7.30, usually leave about 5pm, and often work another 2/3 hours once I get home. Sunday afternoons are spent doing work for school.
Around report writing times, could be working till about 10pm for 2/3 weeks.
Of course that's balanced out by the holidays we get.
When I am at work, I do work hard, pretty much 13/14 hour days, but the holidays are great (if only I could get away to the sun on the cheap and not have the pool overrun with kids )
I couldnt cope with any more, I'm half dead when I get in from work as it is, and its only an office based job! If i could survive on part time work I would.
