How many icons in your system tray?

taskbar.jpg

Not as bad as other I've come across.

I'm pretty anal about this kinda stuff too, although (lazily) right now I have:
mail washer
outlook
ati control panel
unplug hardware
kaspersky
boinc
icq
daemon tools

but services is where it's at ;)
batch files in task scheduler to only run services when I need them to; my daily acronis backups, logmein start/stop only when I'm at work etc has cut down my running services massively.

Currently 10, but sometimes 11.

  1. Speedfan
  2. Emule
  3. Windows Live Messenger
  4. Nokia PC Suite
  5. PeerGuardian 2
  6. NOD32
  7. Sygate Firewall
  8. Creative Volume Control
  9. AnalogX NetStat Live
  10. Netlimiter
  11. µTorrent (not always loaded)

10-20 pings in FPS online games says you're wrong!
allways a full strength signal says you're wrong!
no lag issues says you're wrong!
tidier due to no lan cables running around the house says you're wrong!

Will upgrade to wireless-N when it's final too :) (then we'll see which 10baseT user laughs at 54G....lol)

I have dual gigabit ethernet ports on my mobo for when I'm at LAN parties though but at home wifi works wonderfully and never fails me. It's all about the equipment you have and how it's setup and people commonly forget that and misjudge wifi completely...

i'm [prert hammerd right now, but i reckon i can put up avaid argument,

pings are lower wth ethrenet, transfer speeds are way higher (especialy with gigabi)T,

last time i set one up, wirless home network sahredd the bandwith from the outer, so the 54mbs was a lot lower if many susers were using itt at ocne..

i've set wiresls up in my mrs's house, and she's theonley user, and has zerio prolbems, but she wyukd nevers ntoivce any speed dips AT lall

manm i;n startuibg ti fqade niw, lsiteningt o poison - everyn rose has irts thorn :one of the best songsss ever..

g/night

dedit, also got speedwagon : keep on lvingyou :D

Mine's the same - very fast and reliable, but when it comes to network activity (hosting a LAN game, transferring files etc.) it's not too good :(. 100% signal in my room so I wouldn't have thought that'd be a problem, but it is.

I predict that when Bledd reads this thread in the morning he is going to be feeling a little bit tender :D
