Just english here, I did fench at school but it's such a poor standard its worth very litte and I've now forgotten it anyway

You do realise that Irish isn't English in the same way that the others are all English?... irish is completely different -.-

I have an Irish mother and spent much of my childhood in Ireland so I am pretty clear on English, Irish and Irish Gaelic. My post was not meant to be taken with any level of seriousness, though I suspect that was somewhat ambitious of me knowing on which site I posted it. We can but live in hope...

English, primarily. I've studied French and German for 9 years each, and my parents live in Vienna, so my German stays up to scratch. My French is a bit hit and miss, I'm just less confident using it. Did a few years of Latin as well, and have a fairly good head for languages, so I can understand a few other European ones.

Currently halfway through a Chinese (Mandarin) degree, and will be moving to China in August to live out there and study at a uni for a year. At the moment it's rather basic and conversational, but next year should step it up :)

Next on my list is Spanish really, I'd love to go round parts of South America, but would be much happier with some basic Spanish to get me by.

Unfortunately just English. I can get by in Portuguese though, I could learn this language very easily if I put some effort in. I've been learning Arabic for the past 9 months or so, progress is very slow though.

2) Welsh (not that northern crap, either ;))
lol, just lol. South Wales Welsh isn't even Welsh, it's some mix of English and Welsh.

Fluent in English, half in Welsh. I'll understand everything you say to me, but expect me to reply in English :p

In the words of Alex on The Apprentice - English (fluent) :p

I am to a reasonable level in both French and German but still no where near fluent.

English and French to an passable standard. Every student here speaks about 3 languages fluently - no exaggeration. Makes you think a bit.

I'd have more trouble speaking than writing or understanding, but German and Spanish.

English being my first obviously. I've also got a Latin GCSE, does that count?
