I can't get my head around that txt speak at all I find it terribly difficult.

Oh btw Duolingo is a fun app for ipad and iphone (probably on android too)

Good way of learning new languages.

I'm impressed with the number of people that have knowledge of French - it pleases me greatly! :D

I'm also very impressed with the number of multi linguals on here :)

English, school French and Learning Swedish. (Easy to understand but harder to speak and write)

I honestly thought I would see at least one guy on here say "Klingon"

very suprised myself too actually, although I found french terribly boring at school, mainly because it was forced on us and gealic would have been a more practical choice.

I'm ashamed at how terrible I am with languages. It's something I've always wanted to put the effort into and learn another language fluently.
English - mother tongue
French - conversational but having not used it for many years I'd say it's basic. The old dear is fluent, but never passed it on except to help me with my GCSE!
German - Lived in Zurich for a year, my German was ok but when I spoke to people in German and they answered in English, I just gave up.
Tagalog - my wife is Filipino and I am surprised at how much I can understand and reply back with. It's probably just below my level of French and German.

Does:

"Une Grand Biere s'il vous plait?"

&

"Merci" after it's brought to me count as knowing the Language? So far as I'm concerned this is all the french I'll ever need to survive! :p
