what alfa is it btw?

my pug hdi gets about 500-550 miles to a £70 tank; that includes round town driving and a fast a-road/motorway driving.

I can't get £50 of petrol in mine - even optimax! :p

I can do over 300 miles per tank with mixed driving. Very conservative driving I can get close to 350 miles. My normal driving takes it to 250miles or so if that! :o

If I were able to put £50 in I might be able to get 400 miles or so maybe, maybe around 380 - but that's driving like a saint - so it'll never happen.

Costs about £40 to fill the VTR and it gives 300 miles.
So I should get about 375 miles for £50 - Pretty rubbish for a 1.6

Ive got a Fiat Cinquecento, so £30 fills my car ne way :p, on a .900 engine, so someone do the maths for me :(

Assuming a petrol price of 94.9 pence/litre:

£30 = (30 / 0.949) litres (31.6 litres)

31.6 litres = (31.6/4.54) gallons (6.96 gallons)

Without you letting us know how miles you can drive on a tank of £30, we have no way of working out what £50 will do in your car

Assuming the book figure of 46mpg though,

31.6 litres @ 46 mpg = 320 miles

If this is true, we can work out how many miles you will get to £50

Just using the book figure, £50 = (50 / 0.949) litres (52.69 litres)

52.69 litres = (52.69/4.54) gallons (11.6 gallons)

11.6 gallons @ 46 mpg = 534 miles

To work out the figure assuming that 320 miles can be had on a £30 tank, you'd work out the mpg first then use this to calculate the number of miles for £50.

well out of £40 which is a full tank id say 300-350 but my car needs to be revved to move :p so at a rough guess id get just over 400 for £50

one thing thats confusing me, the first 1/4 of the tank i seem to be able to get atleast 100 miles usually a little bit more, yet the rest of it i struggle to even get 75 why is that?

Audi A2 Diesel - £35 = 460 miles.

Just about to renew car tax as well: 12 months = £50

Additional price of car over something like an A3 with a petrol engine: £2000 :p

Never mind eh :p

About 550 miles 306 Dturbo. Mix of motorway and town driving.

How many miles would i expect from a 2.0 Petrol Focus?

About the same as I get from my Mondeo, same engine and it weighs about the same.

The most I have ever done on a full tank on the motorway was about 450 miles. This was doing 60mph behind a lorry to reduce drag. I think I could have done about 520 before the tank was bone dry. :p

But £50 would therefore be about 390 miles. :)
