How many people are using IE7?

I am using the 64bit version on Vista, I was previously using Firefox on XP. I haven't really noticed any huge differences, other than that it doesn't eat all my memory like FF did :)

I'm using it, after being on firefox for a few years. Intended to use IE7 for a bit mainly to see what it was like, and I've still not gone back to FF. Read into that what you will. :)

So how many people are using IE6 or lower and any suggestions as to how many of the general public will be using IE7?

The reason I ask is I am creating a web page and am having issues with compatability with IE7 but not 6 so was wondering how many people at the moment will see the page wrong. :o

ie7 has copied mostly everything from firefox. i personally don't use it because the user interface is not very practical to me. they changed to many things for the worse. i'm using firefox but it needs to improve the bookmarks and download features very soon

Well I work on 2nd line for an isp and the amount of people running it is increasing rapidly. With auto updates I'd guess its going to be most within a few months.

I'm thinking of going back to IE after using Firefox for ages. I'm getting sick and tired of all the quirky little bugs in Firefox and they never fix them.

Latest one that's winding me up is when I click on links it sometimes just goes blank and it says 'done' at the bottom of the page. I have to click BACK and then click the link again... it get's tiresome after a bit and it drives me mad when it's a secure page as all the info gets lost requiring me to start again

This is after the copy&paste bug in the last version!

I'm on somebody else's PC atm and thus I had been forced to use it. I hated it completely so I installed Opera. (They won't know..lol..)

Out of interest , why did you hate it so much ?

I have it on for testing purposes, I hate it though. Interface is utterly stupid, can't find anything. Took me ages to find the options menu the other day, getting rid of the menu bar was the worst idea they have ever had. Conceptual model = out the window :/

Ridiculous place to have the stop and refresh buttons too, and why are they so small. Seems pointless having tabs when links always seem to open in new windows :confused:/

I quite like it. I have steadily begun liking Firefox less and less as it seems to use far more system resources than IE and sometimes I get this annoying problem where it takes a few seconds after I have clicked on a tab for it to change. Then there are little things - the IE7 interface is less cluttered (the one thing stopping me from using Opera was the huge top menu bit which I couldn't be bothered to change)

I'm seeing lots of people moaning about the memory usage of firefox. It is high yes, but does it actually hurt your systems performance at all, I'm betting is does not, so why worry about it.

tried ie7 for a while but in the end went back to firefox 2.0. for some reason i just prefer it, plus it has the ability to use extensions, something which i cant do in ie7! plus there are some cool themes out for firefox as well. the mem issues dont really bother me, as a quick restart of firefox usually solves this problem.

I tried IE7 on my laptop. Hated it. Couldn't find half the things and couldn't be arsed to find out how to get them back (favourites being one). Seemed cluttered and illogical.

Back with Firefox 2 and don't see myself going to IE7 anytime soon.

My prefer my installation of Firefox.

Once you spend a little time customizing and adding to Firefox (Plug-ins e.t.c.) you will never go back. Love it.

Used IE7 for best part of a week. Its much better than 6, my I just prefer Firefox.
