I always wondered where the millionaire winners go, as you never hear about them. The old-style lotto that begun in 1994 generated a millionaire roughly once per week. Let's say 50 per year. That's just on the Saturday draw. When the £2 draw got introduced 5-10 years ago the jackpot was increased but there was still the lesser millionaire winner, again once a week. I think it was generated from a barcode on the lotto ticket itself. So I think the lotto must have generated around 1,500 millionaires in its lifetime now. That's at least 1 millionaire in every major UK town.

Afaik the vast majority end up pretty much back where they started after a few years of fast cars, posh houses and travelling the world.

Without the experience of financial management and money generating infrastructure you'd have by say accumulating the same amount of money as a successful businessman most folk just cant handle it sensibly enough to stay rich.

Doesn't quite a lot of money get donated to 'good causes'? I buy the occasional ticket, don't win much but see it as a bit of fun.
As for where are all the winners, you'd have to be mental to go public with a big lottery win. I know some do but can only imagine the amount of hassle that causes them.
