How many viruses have you had?

Only ever had one virus, back in my Atari ST days, think it was called the Ghost virus. Reversed your up and down movements of you mouse. Great fun.

None, and only gotten Spyware twice that I can remember, both times were when I didn't think before running that .exe.

Don't run any AV, anti-spyware or firewall (beyond NAT) either as I see it as a waste of time :)
 
No Viri, but I have had spyware and worms like the blaster but that was before security was set up.

I can remember making 100's of executable floppy disks to give to customers of a certain computer shop that searched and killed the virus.

I can remember the Atari Ghost virus too but I think it was more fun than a virus.

How did you know you had a virus if you don't run AV software and by your own admission you have actually contracted spyware but don't run AS software? So you do need protection. ;) :confused:
 
Nothing serious here.

Just the usual adware/spyware that norton takes care of anyway. I went through a bit of a scare last year when I was suddenly getting 10 warnings a day! At this point I was considering a move to linux (but thats a completely different and painful story! :p ). I installed NOD32 at this point as a backup, IIRC it was a free 30-day trial I found in a PC-Mag lol, nothing got through lol.

I still end up formatting my PC every 6 or so months though, for some reason after that time windows seems to be very slow and crashes a lot :S
