How much caffeine is too much caffeine?

All I know is tea contains more caffeine than coffee gram for gram, but the processing of them results in coffee having a higher caffeine content!

Well that's what so,e one told me... They better had not been bull ******** me! :p

That's pretty much spot on really. You have more coffee in a coffee than you do tea in a cup of tea, but tea has a higher caffeine content.

Not sure it effects everyone different, myself i hardly feel any different at all no matter how much caffeine i drink, i have 3 coffee teaspoons in each one i drink, and i am no different, i recently tried using NO Xplode at the gym and had 3 servings in one, and again it didnt do anything at all, not even a tingle.

I am not addicted to it either from having too much, i can go months without having any and again it does not bother me.

Personally i dont drink coffee or energy drinks for their effects i drink them for the taste, which is a good job because they seem to have no effect on me, and i can always fall straight to sleep.

I drink one cup of coffee a day during the week, and none during the weekend, although may consume a little redbull when out drinking

It's not anywhere near as damaging as this thread makes out. The dependency is the most worrying thing about it, and that's not very worrying at all.

i do get a shot of 400mg before gym/3 times week but thats about it.

i don't really have the need for it it just gives me more focus really

Many teas and coffees are available in decaf, not to mention green tea etc.

The problem with decaf is that it tastes rubbish, which kind of defeats the point of drinking it.

Also, you know green tea contains caffeine? It's just black tea that hasn't been oxidised as much as black tea.

espresso = more caffeine

Not really, when you are making a coffee like a cappuccino or latte you start with an expresso shot (or two).

Any caffeine is too much

I cut it out completely ages ago, I found I had MASSIVE headaches and no energy for a while, however if you keep at it and go through the pain period it goes away. Eventually (if you eat healthy that is/drink plenty of water...) you'll find you have even more energy than when you drank caffeine and it won't be that horrible jittery kind of energy either, more like a clean, clear thinking focussed energy.

10:30, I'm on my 3rd cup.. probably too much but it gets me away fro the desk for 5 mins.

I don't really bother drinking it at all at home, except for before I leave the hose for work.

Consuming caffeine on a daily basis is too much caffeine - period. It should be used if / when someone needs a pick-me-up, not the opposite where you fear feeling run down / tired without some.

Citation required (also nobody wants to drink your foul tasting hippy-**** drinks and decafinated drinks are decafinated with a terrible chemical processes. Also they taste crappy)

Coffee (my choice of caffeine intake) rules. Can't get enough of it. However, I think stuff like Red Bull etc is probably bad for you. Mostly because of the sugar and other crap that is in them rather than the caffeine.

Any amount of caffeine is too much, your body does not need it.

People tend to take it thinking that it "boosts" energy when really it doesn't, it just causes several organs/muscles to work faster for a short time, but the after effects can be devastating, one bad thing to do is use caffeine as a way to catch up on sleep. Your immune system will get worse, you will feel sluggish and worse of all your perception and mental power will lessen. Then comes to obvious, you take more to counter the last one.

My mother-in-law works stupid shifts, is constantly tired regardless of the amount of sleep, every 2nd week she has a cold or some sort of cough. She can sometimes go through several cans of redbull per day, not to mention the coffee in the morning then she eats things like boost bars and mars bars with lots of suger, causing constant crashing.

There is nothing good about it.

Caffeine is just another chemical that ****s with the mind like alchohol or pot.
