How much cost to get a bike license

Best money I've ever spent, bikes run through the family, and are a part of me. I've been without a bike for over a year now... And people notice, they notice I'm not happy as much as I used to be. I go out drinking on the weekends more. I'm simply bored. Whilst I have my PC and games, I'm still bored. I'm not able to just pop away for a few hours on the bike on a Sunday to clear my head. Which ultimately, if people are out on Friday, and I know the weather is good on Saturday, I will get an early kip instead of going out and go ride on Saturday :P

Biking is a very large part of me and the cost of a licence never once crossed my mind as a second thought.

I'm very much the same. When I've planned a ride on a Saturday or Sunday, my non-riding friends can't understand why I don't want to go out til early hours and drink on the Friday or Saturday. They just don't understand.

Yea, it's a tough one. I can't wait to have that feeling back in one week!

See for me I've never once been out for just a "ride out" it's all just been commuting these past 4months. I enjoy the journeys each time but I don't really have the time with a young baby and dog.

So I personally would like to pass my test as cheaply as possibly as I'd probably keep my 125 as it's great for what I use it. I could probably trim 5mins off my journey in the morning by going down an A(M) road so is this worth 500quid?

guys could i wade in here please.

i have been thinking for the past couple of months about learning to ride.

i really want a harley davidson sportster 883.

what would be best way to go about the licence. i really don't want to ride about on a 125 for 2 years before going for my full licence.

thanks

Probably not if you look at it that way, but if you have the money available now and are interested in other aspects of motorcycling, then get stuck in or save patiently.

Riding a 125 is nothing like a big bike. Physically it is much bigger and stable, but eventually you'll find you heading home the long way and you'll be hooked!

You could do your licence now and get something like a simple bigger bike for commuting, like a CB500 and wait until your child is a bit more grown up before investing in a truly fun bike, if you can wait that long
