well im very interested in a 320i SE 05 plate with 35K on the clock, full leather and bluetooth telephone preperation. Its on for 16k, and i want to part ex my car which parkers say is worth 6k trade in and the BMW dealer has offered 5-5.5k. What kind of discount should i expect? How much "cost of change" should i be gunning for? also, how does this bluetooth preperation work? cheers fellas

This vehicle trade books for £13.3k without options, so we'll say they are worth another 300 quid. Gives them £2300 in the deal. Personally I'd be happy with up to £500 off from a dealer as the AUC scheme is pretty good.

I would check Parker's to see how much that 320i is going for from a franchised dealer taking into account the part exchange price they bought it for, then try to aim between. You would probably be lucky to get £1k off from an approved dealer even if you are a good haggler, but I have limited experience with buying 2nd hand cars.

It pairs with your phone and allows you to make and receive calls using the buttons on your steering wheel, with the call sound routed through the speaker.

do they work with any bluetooth handset? ive offered them my car and 9.5k, i know that they would accept 10k but aint willing to spend quite that much. Also, anyone know of any issues with that model?

does anyone have glasses guide handy as im sure they are undervaluing my part ex. its a 02 plate 316iSE 1.9 in topas blue with 51k on the clock. Good condition and 5 mths bmw warrenty left. Im sure its worth 6k you see

I had an E90 320i for about 5-6 weeks from new. It wasn't bad but it was pretty slow, although I guess coming from a 316i that wont be an issue. To be honest it's just more of what you had before but newer.

Insurance cost is a big factor as im 25 with no ncb, most people tend to recommend the diesel 320se but for the same price i loose leather and another 10k on the clock an no bluetooth. My car has 105bhp so 150 should be quite noticeable for me. I do around 12k miles a year so economy is not too much of an issue. What mpg did you get in the one you had fox?

I insured my 530i at 23 without NCB.

I remember being rather unimpressed with the economy - it was about the same as my 530i. But the car had 6 miles on it when I collected it so I guess it was just a bit stiff.

I've not checked the values but I'd really be wanting an M Sport - I had one of those as well albeit only for 2 days, a 320i M Sport Auto. It was gutless and the box ruined it BUT the rest of the car was really rather nice - Lemon Dakota leather sports seats made it feel pretty special, a lot more so than the regular 320 although the one I had for ages was an ES.

my current insurance is around 1100, this motor only puts it up by a ton. In 5mths i will have 1yrs ncb so should be less than a grand. I feel like in peeing money up the wall with insurance:mad:

my current obc says i get 34mpg which i think is a bit optmistic so anything similar is sound.

Im not a fan of autos, from what i gather they seem to de-value 3 series bmw's with smaller engines.

At 35k are any expensive services due soon?

Thats very very high! I paid £1200 @ 23 with no NCB and a recent fault claim.

It might be almost due an oil service, but, no. Your first Inspection 2 is typically around 50-60k miles.

It begs belief the price. I could have got better private when I purchased my Focus, but a ST3 full leather with phone, voice control, heatead f/r screens, parking sensors, xenons etc etc for a grand more 2 years newer 6k miles 2 years warranty & breakdown, quicker. I bet it has been debadged too as most of the 320is which grace the road unless it is a diesel.

Don't do it, better cars for the money :)

......sits back and waits for a flaming.
