How much do you actually download ?

For any newsgroup users, if you haven't seen 'StreamReactor' before you should check it out.

Also NZBplayer is cool.

My ssh connections use more than some of these caps on IDLE.

Don't be silly now, you could run 100 ssh connections idle for a month and the keepalives wouldn't be more than a couple of hundred MB at most....and if you did it would be your choice too.

Some people in this thread are exactly the best reason for ISPs to implement shaping and capping. You bring it on yourselves.

Take a look at bintube player which is a nice alternative to those, I also have an account with them as its the best priced newsnet account I have seen for the offering.

More on topic.

June so far: 548 and 9 up
May 412 and 7.5 up

I would say about 100g to 150g per month.

My mate however who gets his broadband restricted every month downloaded 3TB last month. And he has done about the same figure last month as well.

Anything from around 10GB to around 50GB... more often than not it will be closer to the former.

Some mind blowing figures being mentioned in here!

100GB per month on Zen Pro. I should be able to order FTTC at the end of this month/early next month!

i've downloaded about 550gb in the last 2 and half weeks but normally dont download much just have a big blast every couple of months lol

how are you people measuring what you download each month ?
is there some form of software that shows you that ?

I am using Win 7 64bit.

Also, I am always worried about downloading as my isp, Orange may start getting nasty if I download lots.

I don't pay for Broadband as I get it free through Orange as I am a pay monthly contract phone customer. (used to be with freeserve/wanadoo then Orange bought them out so excisting customers got broadband free)

High end routers, iirc cisco stuff, custom routers - tomato, smoothwall, pfsense, dd-wrt, or some bandwidth programs but those only work if you only have 1 pc on the line.

Seem to average ~120 down, 10 up myself. Add 50gb each time steam has a sale though :)
