How much does this suck.. X1900XT.

Well I have infront of me a new MSI X1900XT I bought of overclockers from the clearence section for £250.

Thing is though I cant use it, as I have sold all my stuff to fund a new machine based on the Conroe 6600. This is gonna be my new pc setup..

Zalman VF900-CU Quiet Copper VGA Cooler (SY-008-ZA)

For now though I have to wait for it all to come together... it should be nice when its finished though?

why can't you use it??? I have exactly the same card in an asrock dual and it's running fine. Getting a 3dmark05 of 10759 at stock

Lol yeah, I have sold my old stuff.. x2 3800+ / asrock dual sata2 mobo / 2gig gskill / Aopen 6800GT.

I now have to wait unti conroes and motherboards are available so I can build a new pc. So I have to wait for a few more weeks, driving me nuts.

Yes it is loud, it sounds like a hoover on full blast. I would get the Zalman VF900 and replace the stock cooler once you know it all works ok.

What i still dont under stand is the cooling fans they use on them. I mean the fan doesnt look like it'll shift much air at all :confused:

Cheers, I will order the Zalman with my psu, wich will be some time next week. I fitted the zalman v700cu to my Geforce 6800GT and it was a fantastic cooler, so I will be doing the same here.

Yeah if you look at the box it says X1900XT but MSI call it RX1900, its still an X1900XT it has it on the pcb.

Regarding noise, yes the stock cooler is loud.. Saying that you can hardly hear it when running idle. I was just playing BF2 everything at full including 6xAA and the fan still didn't spin up, unlike my old X850XT it was much noisier.. i'm very happy with this MSI Card. Havnt' done any major overclocking yet.. just tinkering.. It seems to be fine with running the memory at 800 (1600) not tried higher yet, only had it in a few days... waiting to run it in first.

The cooler is NOT loud, I realy dont see why people call it loud.

Loud is a 120mm delta fan going 24/7

or like my pc, Three 120mm Panaflo's @ 42db each..

The fan is barely audiable imo..

Yes...in your opinion. Wonderful things arent they

25db is too loud imo so your PC would have all the fans at 5v within about 2 minutes
