How much does this suck.. X1900XT.

loud... noisey... it's an annoying whine imo.. but only when you first switch your machine on, other than that you can't distinguish it from the rest of the general PC noise.
 
The stock cooler on the x1900 is a horrible, horrible piece of kit. It is disgustingly loud under load and when idle it produces horrible motor noise, vibrations and still isn't quiet. Of course this is my view and I had to do something about it. Enter a Thermalright V1 Ultra and 2x80mm fans at 5V. This is inaudible and cools as well as the stock HSF.
 
Guess I'm one of the lucky people who isn't bothered by the sound of fans :D just slap on my 5.1 medusa's and I'm well away :D

And as a side note I just got hold of my first ATi card, Connect3D 1900XT and I have to say it is a great card....such a massive step up from my previous 6800 Ultra :D

Same here lol ! Can barely hear anything through the medusa's...

I went from a 9800 Pro , to a X800 XL, To a X1800 XT Then to the X1900 XT and im still impressed by this card :D

I'm in the same boat as you, I have a saphire X1900XT sat here bought when it was in the this week only section. I have everything sat here just waiting for my E6600 conroe and my P5W DH Deluxe to arrive. Driving me nuts waiting :(

I also have the same ram as you, I just want to get my Conroe upto 3Ghz so that RAM should suffice for me :)
